Coleoptera is The latin name for beetle, These pieces were modeled from actual beetles from the scarab family and cast into a wearable artifacts. This collection was created Exclusively for “Natural Selection”, an exhibition at La Specola, the Natural History Museum of Florence,

The scarab is an ancient Egyptian emblem of transformation and symbol of the sun's vital energy, It is a powerful talisman that wards off evil and brings strength and positive forces to the individual it adorns. The scarab portrays the relationship between life, death, transformation and renewal; it was a ubiquitous amulet during the middle kingdom of Egypt, ca.. 1938-1630 B.C.E.
